About

55cristina-guillaume-engagement-Welcome to Shop Your Fridge! This is a food blog where I share recipes and stories on how to cook at home with ingredients you have. My goal is to promote cooking and eating at home with the people we love so that we eat better, spend less and build relationships. And have fun doing it!

“Learn how to cook – try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, BE FEARLESS, and above all have fun.” – Julia Child

Who am I? I’m Cristina, aka ‘gal-who-can-cook’. It started as my profile name for online dating websites. I eventually met Mr. Right organically and kept it as my social media name. A little more about me:

Loves: food, cooking, travel, biking, yoga, the outdoors, reading, my husband Guillaume, my cat Miguel & checking out new places to eat.

Dislikes: fast food, food courts & chain restaurants.

Favourite Meal: anything homemade.

Inspiration: my Parents, they taught me how to grow a garden and cook with what is in season before it was cool.

Job: corporate world by day, passionate home cook 24/7.

Pet Peeve: using table salt for cooking, please use sea salt.

Happiness Is: hearing people ask for seconds when I cook for them (it’s the Italian in me).

Must Haves in Life: espresso, olive oil, aspirations & love.
